Project Overview
Working with Cenergy Solar, a local agriculture focused solar energy systems provider, Y&H was initially brought on to help establish location and direction data for the installation of the system. Their role quickly grew as they interacted with Kern County staff and helped the property owner navigate additional requirements that they had not planned on dealing with for this project.

Project Details
The primary goal of the survey project was to establish Geodetic North to provide the data needed to place the panels in the proper direction to generate maximum production given their fixed placement. Once that was established, Y&H worked with Synergy Solar to survey the placement for each of the support posts for the 1.5MW system to ensure ideal sun exposure throughout the year.
Given the location of the project in proximity to public roads and the nearby drainage basin, Y&H worked closely with the Kern County Planning and Development Department to get all concerns addressed cost effectively in the plans. Due to the longstanding relationships with the Public Works offices of the Cities and Counties throughout Central California, Y&H was able to handle these requirements with ease, saving the property owner from navigating that on their own and avoiding any surprise fees or penalties.
