Y&H Projects Earn Three Fresno Branch Awards and a San Francisco Section Honor
A new gathering space, better storm drainage, and a growing neighborhood each serve our communities in different ways. This year, three projects our team helped deliver received recognition from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Fresno Branch. One also went on to receive an ASCE San Francisco Section award.

Here’s a look at the projects and the work behind them.
Clovis Botanical Garden Visitor Center
2026 ASCE Fresno Branch Outstanding Community Improvement Project

The Clovis Botanical Garden’s new visitor center gives the volunteer-led nonprofit more room to welcome visitors, host events, and teach the community about landscaping that conserves water.
The approximately 2,600-square-foot building includes a multipurpose gallery, welcome area, and office space. Y&H provided civil engineering, land surveying, construction staking, and agency coordination. Our work included utility connections and accessible walkways, with careful attention to drainage and preserving the established garden.
It’s a relatively small project with a meaningful purpose: helping a community resource reach more people.

Valley View Storm Drain Phase 2
2026 ASCE Fresno Branch Outstanding Flood Management Project

In Selma, the Valley View Storm Drain Phase 2 project puts stormwater to better use while improving flood protection.
New storm drain piping, including crossings beneath State Route 99 and an irrigation canal, directs runoff to the expanded Valley View Basin instead of the Consolidated Irrigation District canal system. The basin provides approximately 60 acre-feet of storage and supports groundwater recharge.
Y&H provided engineering oversight, project coordination, funding administration assistance, and construction phase services alongside the City of Selma, Gateway Engineering, Sierra Construction & Excavation, and agency partners. Delivering the improvements required the team to work through funding challenges, utility conflicts, and constrained construction areas.

The Ranch at Heritage Grove
2026 ASCE Fresno Branch and San Francisco Section Outstanding Urban or Land Development Project

The Ranch at Heritage Grove in Clovis brings homes, parks, trails, and supporting infrastructure together in a connected neighborhood.
Y&H provided civil engineering, land surveying, mapping, grading and drainage design, utility coordination, and agency coordination. Working with Lennar Homes, the City of Clovis, and project partners, our team helped coordinate infrastructure across multiple development phases, including pedestrian connections to the regional Dry Creek Trail system.
After receiving the Fresno Branch award, the project went on to earn the San Francisco Section award in the same category.

Thank you to our clients, project partners, and the Y&H team members who helped bring these projects to life. It’s rewarding to see that shared effort recognized and to see these improvements serving the communities they were designed for.
