Grundfos, a local pump manufacture, client of Y&H, and neighbor is in the news once again for their efforts to save water.  Due to the reduced snowpack this year, the recent project by Grundfos at their plant on Shields to recycle irrigation water and reduce the amount of water they consume onsite.  Y&H helped Grundfos in 2012 design retention ponds and piping to collect Fresno irrigation District water to use for their landscaping.  The site landscaping was designed by the same firm that designed the Y&H property, Patrick Boyd with Designlab 252.

Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which was passed in 1991, was designed to prevent discrimination to those individuals with disabilities.  According to the United States Justice Department, the Act is designed to eliminate the “Barriers to employment, transportation, public accommodations, public services, and telecommunications have imposed staggering economic and social costs on American society and have undermined out well intentioned efforts to educate, rehabilitate and employ individuals with disabilities”.

One of the misconceptions of the rules and the regulations of the ADA is that the law only applies to individuals with a disability.  This is not the case, as the law applies to a much broader group of people with both physical and mental impairments.  The person must have a physical or metal impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities.

Site grading has begun on a new solar project for a South Valley agri-business.  Y&H helped the solar company with the site surveying, grading design, SWPPP and construction staking.

Y&H is excited to be implementing a conversion in our CAD program to Autodesk Civil 3D. This week, many of our technical staff will be getting training from our software dealer. We are confident that this new upgrade will help our staff improve our product for our clients.
